The Story of IgniterSpace
The Humble Beginning
The idea of IgniterSpace (formerly known as KidsIgnite) spawned when our founder, Hasith Yaggahavita noticed the lack of a good technology education program for children.
Being an experienced professional in the Sri-Lankan tech industry, he decided to start a program to educate his 2 kids as well as to help other parents with the same interest.
IgniterSpace started its journey on 6th of March 2016 using our Hasith's home as its first Makerspace.
The Establishment
With the high interest from other parents who had seen the activities on social media. IgniterSpace soon ran out of space at its first makerspace.
One of Hasith's long time mentors Mano Sekaram has identified the need for creative education in the country and stepped up in taking IgniterSpace to grow out of the first center.
On 24th July 2016, IgniterSpace started its second makerspace at a much spacious building at Narahenpita and later moved to other parts of the country.

IgniterSpace is committed to the cause of guiding our young generation to become innovators and creators of technology.
We will continue to bring the very best of technology education to our students. Our vision is to see a passionate new generation of young innovators and entrepreneurs.
We understand this is a decades long journey, and are prepared to walk all the way through it together with you.
The Synergy
From the inception of IgniterSpace, we have been receiving a heap of unconditional support from like minded institutes such as COSTI, SLASSCOM, ICTA, etc. as well as from parents of our dearest students.
IgniterSpace team consist of around 20 full-time employees and more than 100 part-time Facilitators working around the clock to create the future they dream.
